God has helped me in so many ways. Have you ever been through some tough times and you felt that all you could do was beg God to send you some kind of sign that everything is going to be alright? You prayed SO hard, held your hands together, got down on your knees and prayed…? God has sent me signs, at HIS time, when he knew I was strong enough to handle everything. He’s sent them to me in various ways that you wouldn’t believe!

I want  to share with you one of those ways that God has sent me a sign letting me know everything is going to be okay. :)

A couple weeks ago I started driving (with my windows down) when I noticed this grasshopper sitting on my side mirror. My initial reaction, “Ohh chit!” I put my windows back up, took this picture, then continued driving, waiting for it to “hop” off. Finally, it did.

Today, I started backing out of my driveway and I see this turtle! It was chillin under my car. My initial reaction, “WHOA! OMG! A TURTLE!…??” So I ran out and put it in a box (for now). I plan on taking it to Walney to “set it free”… where else do I leave it? My little brother said to let it be, but I figured if I let it be, it might get run over or something? (If it ever reaches the road…) 

Something dawned on me… am I like SNOW WHITE?… Or better yet, call me SNOW “BROWN” LOL

The first week I bought my car, Charlotte and her web was hiding in my passenger side mirror… and she wouldn’t leave! It took a while for her to finally blow away. I’ve had a dog, who barks at everyone, who doesn’t get along with strangers, that I just met, sit next to me… quiet and still. 

I decided to look up the symbolism for these two specific creatures. 

Grasshopper:

“Grasshoppers can only jump forward….not backward, or sideways. So, when grasshopper shows up he could be reaffirming to you that you are taking the right steps to move forward in your current situation. Or it could be that he is telling you to go ahead and move forward, getting past what is hindering you. This is why grasshopper is the symbol of good luck all over the world. Grasshopper’s ability to connect and understand sound vibrations is why he is also a symbol of your inner voice. he could be telling you to trust yours.

The grasshopper is associated with astral travel. They have the ability to leap through time and into space where the true mysteries of life exist. People with this medicine have the wisdom necessary to overcome obstacles efficiently and are able to jump into successful ventures without preparation or planning. When the grasshopper appears to us we are being asked to take a leap of faith and jump forward into a specific area of life without fear. Usually that specific area is one that we have avoided and is often connected to change on a larger scale. This can represent a change in location, relationships, career or just in the way we perceive ourselves.”


TURTLE: 

“Because of its seemingly wide-eyed, long-lived, carefree attitude the turtle is often thought to be the wisest of souls among the animal kingdom. We would all do well to take this as a lesson and move at our own pace as the turtle does.

Furthermore, the turtle takes its wisdom one day at a time - not reacting, simply accepting and moving on in its natural methods. Again, this is a powerful analogy for humankind, and we would benefit from adopting the same behavior pattern.

Turtles share an association with water, which lends meanings of motion, intuition and emotion to the myriad of more symbolic meanings of the turtle.

The shell is symbolic of the heavens.”

When I start to doubt myself and my abilities, He lets me know it’ll be alright.
