Permalink In 2007, I was going on my 2nd year dancing with Culture Shock DC. We were fortunate enough to get invited to perform at the “7th International Folk Art Festival” in China, where we represented the US for Hip Hop dance. Here’s a picture of some of us after one of our performances. This is definitely one of my markers of what seems like my beginning. I don’t know how or why my mom let me go, but if it weren’t for her, I’m not sure what else I’d be doing right now=)

Beginning ballet..

..is NOT beginning ballet.

At least not at Edge PAC lol. Of at least 20-25 students, I was the only one with a t-shirt & basketball shorts, with no technical training, and no idea what any of the terms were. I did not realize there was a BASIC ballet class:o I stuck it out though and did what I could. The instructor was very nice & allowed me to learn a bit, until I sat out to watch:P as uncomfortable as I was, ‘twas an experience! I soaked in what I could and I DID NOT walk out.. bam.

BASIC tap in the am.
